American Printing House for the Blind (APH)

The American Printing House for the Blind (APH) produces (1) books and magazines in braille, large-type, and recorded form; (2) writing and recording equipment for use by students and adults; (3) materials for teaching blind students; and (4) special supplies used in education and by adults. APH also maintains LOUIS, an online database of information on special materials available for the education of blind students.

Education Commission of the States (ECS)

The Education Commission of the States (ECS) is an interstate compact created in 1965 to improve public education by facilitating the exchange of information, ideas and experiences among state policymakers and education leaders.  It helps states develop effective policy and practice for public education by providing date, research, analysis and leadership, and by facilitating collaboration, the exchange of ideas and long-range strategic thinking.  States learn from one another as they work to improve teaching and learning for students.

Job Accommodation Network (JAN)

The Job Accommodation Network facilitates the employment and retention of workers with disabilities by providing families, individuals with disabilities, employers and employment providers with information on job accommodations, self-employment and small business opportunities.  It also links to other organizations, resources, support groups, and offers information on accommodations, legislation updates and an overview of the ADA.

National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO)

The National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO) provides national leadership in designing and building educational assessments and accountability systems that appropriately monitor educational results for all students, including students with disabilities and students with limited English proficiency. NCEO focuses on: research on the participation and performance of students in state and national assessments; conducting secondary analyses of assessment data; dissemination and technical assistance; and other networking activities to facilitate the use of research-based information by states, policy groups, researchers, and other agencies; and collaboration and leadership to build on the expertise of others and to develop leaders who can conduct needed research and provide additional technical assistance.
NCEO is a project of the Special Education Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network (TA&D), funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS).
