Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL)

The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning is a five-year project designed to strengthen the capacity of Head Start and child care programs to improve the social and emotional outcomes of young children. The Center will develop training and technical assistance (T/TA) materials that reflect evidence-based practices for promoting children's social and emotional development and preventing challenging behaviors. The Center will then work with professional organizations and Head Start and child care T/TA providers to ensure the use of the evidence-based practices in local demonstration sites.

Center to Mobilize Early Childhood Knowledge (CONNECT)

The Center to Mobilize Early Childhood Knowledge is known as CONNECT. It is working with the early childhood community to create a series of web-based resources that focus on and respond to challenges faced each day by those working with young children with disabilities and their families. CONNECT is creating an online community to ensure that each aspect of the project is responsive to those working with young children.
CONNECT is a project of the Special Education Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network (TA&D), funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS), and is a partnership between FPG Child Development Institute (FPG), the University of Kansas, and the University of Kentucky.

Division for Early Childhood (DEC)

The Division for Early Childhood (DEC) is an international membership organization those who work with or on behalf of children with special needs, birth through age eight, and their families. DEC is a subdivision of CEC (Council for Exceptional Children). DEC is promotes policies and practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of children. Children with special needs include those who have disabilities, developmental delays, are gifted/talented, and are at risk of future developmental problems.

Early Head Start National Resource Center

The Early Head Start National Resource Center (EHS NRC) works to ensure that Early Head Start programs have information and training on best practices on a range of topics. It is a program of the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services.

First Sign strives for the best developmental outcome for every child by promoting awareness regarding the most important aspects of development: social/emotional, communication, and behavior. Its goal is  to increase early identification and intervention of children with developmental delays and disorders.

National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

As the largest professional association of early childhood educators, the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is committed to improving the quality of early childhood programs for children at birth through age eight. A division of NAEYC, the National Academy for Early Childhood Programs, administers a national accreditation system for center-based, early childhood programs. Another NAEYC division, the National Institute for Early Childhood Professional Development, provides resources and services to improve early childhood professional preparation and development. NAEYC publishes a peer-reviewed journal, featuring the latest in childhood research, theory, and practice as well as books, brochures, posters, and videos to expand the knowledge of and commitment to children of early childhood professionals, parents, and concerned citizens.

National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education

This organization addresses the issues of safety and health in child care and early education settings. They also provide licensure regulations from 50 states and DC.

Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS)

The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) provides a wide array of supports to parents and individuals, school districts and states in three main areas: special education, vocational rehabilitation and research.. OSERS is comprised of the Office of the Assistant Secretary (OAS) and three program components: the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), and the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA).
