Epilepsy Foundation

The Epilepsy Foundation is a national organization that works for people affected by seizures through research, education, advocacy, and service. National programs include a toll-free information service (1-800-EFA-1000), research, professional education, public and family education, legal and legislative advocacy, and employment assistance. Local affiliate services may include outreach to schools and the community, support groups, camping, information and referral, employment services, respite care for families, and help with living arrangements. It also publishes pamphlets, bibliographies, reprints, books, cassettes, videos, slides, films, and a quarterly newsletter.

National Epilepsy Library (NEL)

The National Epilepsy Library (NEL), a service of the Epilepsy Foundation, is staffed by medical librarians who provide assistance and literature research to professionals in medicine, disability, and related disciplines. It has an extensive collection of print materials, a comprehensive in-house bibliographic database (ESDI) of journal articles with abstracts, as well as an extensive collection of monographs in the field of epilepsy and seizure disorders. Minimal cost-recovery fees are charged for document delivery services.
