National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY)

The National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities (NICHCY) provides information on disabilities in children; programs and services for infants, children, and youth with disabilities; IDEA, the nation's special education law; and research-based information on effective practices for children with disabilities. NICHCY is a project of the Special Education Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network (TA&D), funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS).

Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP)

The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) is a part of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services at the U.S. Department of Education. OSEP is dedicated to improving results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities ages birth through 21 by providing leadership and financial support to assist states and local districts. IDEA authorizes formula grants to states, and discretionary grants to institutions of higher education and other non-profit organizations to support research, demonstrations, technical assistance and dissemination, technology and personnel development and parent-training and information centers.
