| Projects funded under
IDEA’s Personnel Preparation program area are designed:
- to help address state-identified needs for qualified personnel in
special education, related services, early intervention, and regular
education to work with children with disabilities; and
- to ensure that those personnel have the skills and knowledge
(derived from practices determined through research and experience to
be successful) that are needed to serve those children.
Funding of IDEA's Personnel Preparation grants is
delegated to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), at the U.S.
Department of Education. This NICHCY Web page will connect you to descriptions
of projects that received Fiscal Year 2004 funds from OSEP under IDEA's
Personnel Preparation program.
These grants appear in Volume 2 of Discretionary Projects Supported
by the Office of Special Education Programs under the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act, Fiscal Year 2004: Personnel Preparation.
Copies of Volume 2 are available from NICHCY while supplies last. We are
also pleased to make this information available to you online.
We’ve grouped the projects funded under the Personnel Preparation
program within the competitions under which they were funded. Within each
competition, projects are arranged in order from the earliest to the most
recent.
