| IDEA’s Research
and Innovation program aims to produce and advance the use of knowledge
to:
- improve services provided under IDEA, including the practices
of professionals and others involved in providing services to children
with disabilities, and
- improve educational results for children with disabilities.
Funding of IDEA's Research and Innovation grants is delegated
to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), at the U.S. Department
of Education. This NICHCY Web page will connect you to descriptions of
projects that received Fiscal Year 2004 funds from OSEP under IDEA's Research
and Innovation program.
These grants appear in Volume 1 of Discretionary Projects Supported
by the Office of Special Education Programs under the Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act, Fiscal Year 2004: Research, Innovation, and
Evaluation. (Note: This volume also includes projects funded under
the Studies and Evaluations program, which is described online
separately.)
Copies of Volume 1 are available from NICHCY while supplies last. We
are also pleased to make this information available to you online.
We’ve grouped the projects funded under the Research and Innovation
program within the competitions under which they were funded. Within each
competition, projects are arranged in order from the earliest to the most
recent.
