Studies and Evaluations

in Fiscal Year 2004

IDEA’s Studies and Evaluations program is designed to assess the effectiveness of state and local efforts to provide:

• a free appropriate public education to children with disabilities, and



• early intervention services to infants and toddlers with disabilities, and to infants and toddlers who would be at risk of having substantial developmental delays if early intervention services were not provided to them.

Funding of IDEA's Studies and Evaluations grants is delegated to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), at the U.S. Department of Education. This NICHCY Web page will connect you to descriptions of projects that received Fiscal Year 2004 funds from OSEP under IDEA's Studies and Evaluations program.

These grants appear in Volume 1 of Discretionary Projects Supported by the Office of Special Education Programs under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Fiscal Year 2004: Research, Innovation, and Evaluation. (Note: Volume 1 also includes projects funded under the Research and Innovation program, which is described online separately.)
